The Thomsett Company
For over 30 years, The Thomsett Company has been at the forefront of innovative approaches to project management, sponsorship and team dynamics.
Founded in 1980 by Rob and Camille Thomsett, the company has built a reputation as a boutique, highly effective consultancy and education group that builds long-term relationships with clients. In fact, there are three major Australian companies that have had a 30 year on-going relationship with The Thomsett Company.
The Thomsett Company has many significant differentiators from the majority of project management consultancies. These include:
- Placing project management within the critical and mostly ignored context of organizational culture, values and behaviours;
- A unique and groundbreaking approach to project management based on open, trusting and inclusive planning processes;
- A proven and thought-leading set of tools and concepts (an Agile methodology, if you will) that enable sponsors, project managers and stakeholders to plan and execute the right projects faster;
- A track record of effectively transferring skills to clients enabling The Thomsett Company to support many major clients; and
- An obsession about continuous research and learning coupled with development and testing at the sharp end of project work. This has resulted in a stream of new and exciting tools and techniques for ensuring the appropriate blend of culture, behaviours, tools, techniques and people.
The Thomsett Company is justifiably proud of its client base which includes many major Australian and overseas organizations. In addition, many thousands of project professionals have attended the various workshops and seminars developed by The Thomsett Company and managed and coordinated by our
partner company, Thomsett International.
By building a network of small consultancies and individuals who share the same values and beliefs, The Thomsett Company has the agility to build intimate and highly-personalised relationships with both small and larger companies.
Most importantly, since the landmark People and Project Management book written in 1979 and published by Prentice-Hall in 1981, Rob and Camille have always believed that projects are not about tools, practices, bodies of knowledge, and methods but rather about people, culture and creativity.
Simply, project management is not about managing projects but is all about focusing creativity and innovation.
